Being a campground owner can be hard. Here are some new year resolutions that should make your life easier in 2015!
I will only hire the employees that make sense for my park
Hiring the right staff to run your park with you can be a daunting task. Taking the time during the interview process and not hiring the first applicant can save you many headaches down the road.
I will attract more visitors to our park
Whether it be by increasing SEO (if you don’t know what this is click here), adding a water slide, or simply by new signage on the interstate, it is always important to think of ways to increase traffic to your park.
I will have a better work/life balance
It doesn’t matter what phase you are at in this campground industry, it has its slow time and it has its “I’m up to my neck in alligators” moments. A great goal is to only spend a certain number of hours a week “at the office”. So if you spend 12 working hours on Friday, plan on leaving early on Monday.
I will maximize our deductions and credits
No one party has as many deductions as the small business owners of America. Shop around for an amazing CPA and get everything setup before tax season is near and the little details get overlooked.
I will attend at least one major industry event
There are many reasons to attend industry events, but one of the most important is you get to meet other people that are a part of the same grind that you are. These events can be a great resource to learn about some of the best practices of the industry.
I will get the most “bang for my technology buck”
There are many competitors out there that would love to have a piece of your “technology bucks”. Make sure you do your due diligence to find out which software and hardware providers make the most sense for your park.
